I’ve seen many EVs struggle with thermal issues during extended high-performance driving, but the Ultra’s sophisticated battery management system maintained peak operating temperatures throughout the attempt.

Aerodynamic efficiency played a vital role in the record-setting performance. With a drag coefficient of just 0.21 and an active rear spoiler that automatically adjusts based on speed, the SU7 Ultra remained planted through high-speed sections. The car’s large-sized fixed spoiler and active diffuser generate a maximum downforce of 285kg, substantially improving stability at extreme velocities. The adaptive air suspension, which lowers the chassis by 25mm in Sport mode, complemented the sedan’s 50:50 weight distribution.

The 120 kWh solid-state battery pack powering the Ultra variant not only provides ample energy for track duties but also delivers impressive range capabilities for everyday use. With a high voltage range of up to 800 volts, the SU7 Ultra achieves exceptional power delivery and charging efficiency. Post-record run analysis revealed minimal battery degradation despite the punishing conditions.

With acceleration figures rivaling the Tesla Model S Plaid and Rimac Nevera—reaching 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds—the SU7 Ultra demonstrates that newcomers can indeed disrupt the automotive status quo.
